Sundstrand Sauer Danfoss Series 15 – All Types Shaft & Trunnion Replacement

In the transmissions lip seals are generally used. They can be replaced without taking out the transmissions, but if you need to replace the input or output shaft, you will need to take out the transmissions from the machine.
Make sure you take out the seal very carefully from the housing bore. Try not to damage the housing bore or the shaft. And when you take out the seal, disgard it and put in a new one.
Before you put in the new shaft, you will need to polish it, lubricate it and wrap it up, so it will not be damaged til it is installed. Slide the new seal over the shaft and put it into the housing bore.
The trunnion shaft seal, it is important that the retaining rings and the washers be taken out before taking out the seals. The washer only needs to be replaced if you see that it is bent or damaged in any way.
