Always make sure your unit has cooled down before trying to remove a radiator cap.

It takes at least 7 gallons of coolant to fill up the radiator.

Make sure you have flushed out your radiator before filling it up.

John Deere advises using TY16004 Coolant when it is hot weather outside.

They recommend RE23182 Coolant with it is cold weather.  And make sure it is low silicate, ethylene glycol antifreeze.

To Test the coolants freeze protection levels see your John Deere dealer about a JT05460 service gard coolant and battery tester when working in freezing weather. And also ask about using an Artic Coolant when you are working in more frigid conditions. You will need a different coolant for different climate atmospheres.
