When you are first taking out your charge pump, make marks on the housing to let you know how to it goes back when reassembling it. You will need to clean the shaft off. Make sure to get all burrs and any contaminate residue off, so the shaft seal seal can do its job.

To take off the charge pump

Take out the hex screws (5) and then slide out the housing assy. (3,4,6 & 7) over the shaft making sure to hold the charge pump cartridge and take out the drive pin (1). Take out the shaft seal (4) and bearing (3) out of the housing.

Look over the pieces you just took out for any nicks, abrasions, smear patterns. If any of parts need replacing, do so at this time. You should always replace the drive pin.

Put hydraulic oil on the pump cartridge and housing face. Put the drive pin back into the hole in shaft, then put the pump cartridge into place. Put hydraulic oil on shaft extensions, then put the orings in housing. Next you will slide the housing assy over the shaft. Line up marks you made earlier on the charge pump, then put your screws in and tighten.
