Sundstrand Sauer Danfoss Series 20 Piston Slipper Assembly

In diag.2 the slipper piston is damaged. As you can see in the picture the piston is damaged because of contamination that reaches the piston. This is due to high pressures while running your machine. All kinds of debris got into the lines while preforming the job at hand.

In diag. 2 shows that over-speeding the unit caused the pistons on the outer edge to roll and probably down the sides. Instead of running across the whole face, it went across only on the outer edges.

In diag. 3 it shows by the arrow indicating it had a large piece of contamination that got into the slipper face and caused scoring.

In diag. 4 you can see the slipper face is smeared due to a lack of lubrication. It did not get sufficient enough fluid in the system.

All the diagrams show that these pistons are non-usable. They all would need to be replaced in order to have your unit run at it’s best to do the job.
