Sundstrand Sauer Danfoss Series 40 Three Position Electric Displacement Control (FNR)

The three position (FNR = forward neutral reverse) uses a solenoid operated three position, four way valve to move the pump displacement from neutral to its highest displacement in either direction.

When a solenoid is at it’s peak the charge pressure is sent to one end of the pump servo control cylinder, which yields the pump in its highest displacement. The direction of pump output flow is found by which solenoid is ready.
