Good and Bad Displacement Control Valves

In #1 diagram this is a picture of displacement control valve that is straight from the factory. These are factory adjusted, locked and sealed. They have a note on top of the valve…DO NOT DISTURB THIS ADJUSTMENT.

There are some parts that can be removed with disturbing the spool adjustment:

Neutral Return Spring

On #2 diagram shows a broken spring. There are some cases where the spring pin attaches to the control shaft to the two pivots an fracture and can show as a broken torsion spring and would have to be replaced.

Diagram #3 shows a broken control shaft. To break this part, you would have to over torque the nut which houses the control handle or the other reason is misuse when it shipped. In any case it would have to be replaced.
