John Deere Metric Bolt & Cap Screw Torque Values

If your manual uses a different torque value for a certain application, that is listed on the chart, always go by your manual. These values are a general rule of thumb.

Check tightness and fasteners frequently.

Shear bolts are made to fail under predetermined loads. You need to replace shear bolts with identical ones.

Fasteners need to be replaced with the same or higher grade ones. If higher grade ones are used, use the same tightening strength.

The fasteners threads need to be cleaned, to prevent them from failing when they are tightened.

When tightening plastic inserts or crimped steel type lock nuts to about 50% of the dry torque.

Tighten toothed and serrated type lock nuts to full capacity torque values.
