John Deere recommends HY-Gard Transmission and Hydraulic Oil that is made for best performance for clutch applications and to give the highest protection against mechanical wear, rust, corrosion and flaming.

Engine oil that is used is TO2 oil and some of these as well

API Service, CD/SF, CD/SD, CD/SC, CC/SF, CC/SE, CC/SD, CC/SC, (MIL-L-2104D, MIL0L02104C, MIL-L-46152B).

These types meet the minimum amounts also:

MIL0L-5606A – may be used as Arctic Oil

J20A, J20C, J20B and J20D
