The limit switch is a better since they addressed the issue with the pin actuators. The magnetic switch is self contained and is within the housing of a 300 series stainless steel and can withstand most environmental situations. It does not come in contact with internal parts such as the cylinder. Thus getting rid of wear that is usual done by the pin actuator. This magnetic switch can detect and sense when the cushion collars and cushion buttons can tell when it goes into the head. It gives a positive resolution when it gets to the end of a piston stroke. You can get this on a HY series with a 1 1/2 thru 14 bores, AS and ASH 1 1/2 thru 14.
