What is a Fractionating Tower

This is used in commercial oil refineries to decrease and collect crude oil and make it into other products.

The tower is really just a big still. The preheated oil is pumped into the tower, then steam feeds it’s way in and it starts to boil. The vapors from the steam go into the tower on the first level that is A.

Then it condenses on that level, but then some of the vapors will go onto the next level B. And this will go and on to the next levels, til you have the lightest of vapors that reach the top level. And then it is made into raw gasoline. The condensed vapors on the other levels are drawn off and are sent for further processing.

But from the crude oil comes lubrication. And you will always need lubrication when you are dealing with pumps and motors to fix your excavators, tractors, combines, etc.
